For years I bought Sawyer water filtration products for backpacking, camping, and emergency disaster preparation. A few years back I bought the Survivor Filter Pro X. I was so impressed with its capabilities I also bought the manual pump Pro version, which is the reason why I bought the Survivor filter straw. Small and compact, it also offers way better flow rate and longevity for filtering water than some other popular brands, which I’ve owned and didn’t like. I have a lot of different water filtration system brands and Survivor Filters is my favorite with Sawyer being a close second. I haven’t used these filtration straws but, trust that they will work fine based on doing a lot of posted test reviews by others. These will remain in their box for emergency situations. I’m not a hardcore survival prepper type but, I do like to be prepared in case a fast bug out SHTF situation happens. I have all the bases covered for several months worth of survival food, first aid, firearms, ammo, gear, etc but, water will always be the most critical part of survival. You can only store so much water before the need arises for more water. Also, don’t forget to stock up on replacement filters or you’ll find yourself needing to boil water, which can be time consuming if boiling for consumption…

Amazing water filter system
I had originally bought the heavy duty, deflatable, water canteen’s, thinking the water purification system came with it. I found out later that it was a separate item all together. So of course, I jumped online to get one. This was the exact one I needed. Plus, it was very affordable, compared to the other water purification systems. Along with the purification system it’s self, it comes with detailed instructions and several, cotton refills. When I received it in the Mel, I wasn’t so bold as to use it with toilet water or dirty, mop water, as other reviewer’s have done, but I used it to purify unfiltered city water. It worked amazingly! I ordered it for my bug out bag, but now, I’m going to get more just for daily use. On top of the great product, the shipping was super fast, and the seller was a pleasure to work with. Trust me. You can’t go wrong with this product or this seller. So don’t delay… Buy it today! You won’t regret it.

I got this for my husband and he loves it! He says it is actually better than the big name one he had. The replacement filters are also affordable, which is a plus. It takes a while to filter a large container, but that’s to be expected.

favorite filter
First,[…] I personally got to this from thinking it was the Renovo filter, only difference is the name. The only one that actually takes viruses away! I have been using Sawyer for two years, two things that I hate, one is their bags break fairly easily when used in backpacks. The cap on this filter is much better than the Sawyer mini, I had a cap break off just by regular use, I do not expect that to happen here. What surprised me is I did not have to have to use an 0 ring, and with the O ring I notice the Sawyers tend to leak pretty easily. I have had an O ring degrade so if you are doing a long term backpacking thing, you have to worry about that eventually. I also like the color better, much more suited for going to the woods like I plan to do. Good flow rate. I enjoyed the Sawyer but this one is military grade and I believe somewhere I read that the Renovo was the only one resistent to winter freezing, but I forget were I read that, or maybe it was a video. Sawyer served me will, but I sort of do not trust it is filtering everything, this one is a guarantee.tip, do not leave it on all the time while moving around, this will damage the canteen you can buy.

Terrific product. Have used it twice once with tap water that we were warned to boil and once in silty water. Filtered out all the gunk. Thank you. It is now in my BOBUpdate: Great product. Where I live the drinking water sometimes comes out of the taps with brown silt and is heavily chlorinated–we are told by the town administration it is safe to drink–can you believe politicians?? My home tap water has a filtration system worth hundreds of dollars–The Survivor Filter outperforms this house filtration system as I can still taste impurities through the house system which I don’t taste with the Survivor Filter; the water is also clearer looking with the Survivor–truly impressive performance. I have since bought a second filter for my buddy and we are both looking forward to the Spring and will drink strait from the river and lake during our camp outs–no fear of Giardia in the rivers around here with a .05 Micron filtration system. Will up date then.This company has the best customer service I have ever encountered anywhere–the customer truly comes first. Thank you Mark for your incredible service.

Doesn’t fit with most water bottle and terrible customer service
1. Tried it on 4 different made of reusable water bottle and none fit2. Wrote to customer service asking if indeed only Smart Water and Dasani bottles would be the only that works with this, the reply was to buy their canteens. Terrible3. Will go buy Smart and Dasani and maybe 1-2 more to try and report back here if those works4. Tried the straw by drinking it from source, a fair bit of strength is needed. I guess that means the filters are working5. Once you stop sucking on it, water are stuck in filter. You have to continue sucking till you suck air, then it’s safe to put this filter back. Otherwise, it leaks the remaining water.Until I find a bottle that works, I will rate it as 2. Plus the terrible reply from customer service10/3: Got a email from Mark, CEO of Survivor offering to ship a pair of Squeeze at no cost to me .And told me that I should try Smart Water bottle. I went to buy 2 Smart Water of different sizes and 1 Dasani. Both Smart Water works and Dasani doesn’t. I will be using the Smarts as I don’t think the Squeeze will reach me soon enough for my hike. I have upgraded my rating.

Pleased with this product
Pleased with this product. I have ordered this product before with no problems whatsoever. The reason for the four-star rating however is because my most recent purchase of this product left something to be desired. Upon opening the package and disassembling the filter one of the O-rings broke. I contacted the company and they did provide a replacement promptly with in less than a week. In fact they replaced the entire mouth piece O ring and all. So for the quality of the product I would say it’s very good and as for customer service also exemplary. So why one star well it’s because the company could do better and here’s how. Of course things like this are going to break nothing is 100% but something as small as an O-ring is cheap to provide extras of. Even providing one extra O ring in each package would make certain that this product would be 100% quality guaranteed. However going hiking with only this filter might get you in trouble other 99% of these might do perfect that 1% might put you in a bit of a bind. You really can’t ask for much more out of this company it’s been good at providing decent quality as well as customer service when quality mistakes happen but a bit of forethought could make this product worth every penny and then some. I sincerely hope this company sees this review and starts to provide extras of small cheap parts that might fail if they are essential. If I were to see that in future products I can guarantee this would be the only company I use for personal water filters and it would earn a six star rating.
