    A great addition to my ski tuning kit and ski performance.

    I have used this on 3 pairs of my skis. I recommend using a Sharpie to mark the edge to make sure you have ground the entire edge. I was able to order extra grinding wheels from the company that sells them at $45 per wheel. For standard edges you MUST first use a sidewall cutter to trim the sidewall. If you don’t the plastic will plug the grinding wheels. Swix makes a good one. If you have a trapezoidal sidewall than you’re cool. This grinder with a fine grinding stone gives you a mirror finish at an exact angle. If you are unsure start at a lower angle and see how it feels than gradually increase it. The ski must be wax free before grinding so brush the ski throughly. Use a base cleaner if you want. It took several back and forth emails but when I got in touch with customer support Robin was enthusiastic and shipping was fast and accurate.

    No additional product support.

    Battery life too short and no product support to order a second battery or extra grinding wheels with different grits. The spring tension on grinding wheel stuck often. I will say it’s easy to use, but not worth the money in my opinion.

    Simple and Effective

    I’ve had this for a couple seasons now and it is simple, fast, and effective. I mostly use it if I end up dinging something hard (I’m a racer); normally just maintain edges with diamond stones. But when I do use it, it leaves a shop machine level shiny, sticky (as in grabs your fingers) edge.Could be smaller and lighter for better portability, but extremely effective.

    Convinient Tool for side edges.

    Works well on normal snowboards but not the ones with Magne -Traction like Lib Tech. Quick and easy to sharpen the side edges. Not to be used on the base edge or you will put a gash on your edge and base.

    Will save me $$ Every year!

    Ordered this tool because I was tired of paying well over $100/year to get my family’s skis tuned at the shop. It will definitely do that for me, hopefully for many years to come.Kit comes with everything you need to sharpen the edges your skis and snowboards, including a nice storage case. However, you will also need a ski vice or other vice to hold your skis in place while using this tool. The tool and battery are lightweight and easy to manage while running over your skis. I watched (and recommend you do the same) several videos on how to tune skis and pick proper angles for the bevel. I also recommend getting an old pair of skis from a garage sale so that you can practice on them prior to practicing on your expensive skis.The machine itself worked great for creating sharp edges along the entire length of the ski. The rollers worked perfectly to keep the grinding wheel aligned. I couldn’t feel any burrs after grinding the edges.I would say it took me about 10 minutes to grind the edges on each ski, slow and carefully. Perhaps I will get better at it since I will be doing 4 pairs of skis per year. Now for the waxing….I recommend this product. It does exactly what is designed for and will definitely save you money in the long run. Once again, I also suggest you practice on some old skis and watch some videos before you take this grinder to your expensive skis…

    Good Gift

    I picked this up for my son who is an avid skier and a total DIYer. He was excited to get. He said it feels well made and is pretty light and easy to maneuver. He did say it took some practice to get the feel of it but after about 30 minutes of hands on practice he was ready to tackle some good skis. He said it worked really well, was easy to control and gave him professional results. He is pretty excited to have it and I am glad I came across it. I would buy again. 5 STARS

    Quick and efficient work

    This does a more thorough job than the hand edge tuner I have been using, although there is a bit of a knack to it and it takes some practice. You don’t want to overgrind your edges! I have five kids plus two parents and we all have skis so a tool like this is a huge money saver over having the skis professionally tuned. I’ve also found it helpful to dry the skis after use, and I also do my own waxing of the skis, which is actually easier than the edge grinding and makes a big difference on the slopes. If you have lots of skis to tune, or you like to keep yours in top shape with your own TLC, a product like this is a great choice.
