    The little stove that could

We love this little guy! We have used it for camping in rain and wind conditions. We created a “hot tent” setup with a 10×10 canopy + 4 plastic sides that we attached to the canopy walls – not a fully closed space, but good enough to block the wind and rain. This little stove is amazing!Pro: starts up easily. It is well designed to pull through the chimney and it has oxygen control slats at the bottom for air intake. You get some but not much smoke when you open the door.It burns hot! Look at the photo to see the chimney glow red. It puts out heat well. We even cook on it. The side metal bars that fold out are great for drying clothes or keeping food warm – they seem sturdy, we’ve put pots with food on them and no issues with sturdiness. The portability and storage is great: the chimney fits inside the stove, the legs fold down, the side racks are handles.Con: it is a wood guzzler. I mean you really go through the wood quickly. The size is small so you need to have your wood chopped at half-length. This is annoying when camping: we had to buy a portable saw. You are almost always going to be chopping wood, that’s how quickly this burns. You have to watch it every 15 min as it will burn out and you lose heat. But this is the case with all small stoves. Going forward, we are pre-cutting wood at home. The air intake control is there, but I find it not very helpful: i could not get that sweet spot of slower burning: either it burned very hot, or i choked it and it died down. I tried many times to get it right. I wish there had been a better way to control this than the front slats. The door glass got dark and sooted very quickly. You have to clean it once a day if you want to see the fire.I give it 5 stars because it does well what we wanted it to do: put out heat, no smoke, portabile.

    Excellent wood stove!!!!!

Man this is way better than I expected and for the price it blows others out of the water . I will take pictures cause this is amazing. Most of these have cheep twist chimneys …… not this one it’s very well constructed and durable!!!! I’m honestly blown away by the quality it’s way better than I ever expected. I will get many season out of this , I’m serious and just an average Michigan hunter I camp when I hunt and I’m serious this is the best one I have ever had!!!!

    Great stove

This stove worked great, but be careful to get it too hot, pipes get red hot.

    Outstanding first burn

The media could not be loaded.

Everything was packaged great, no missing pieces, nothing bent, dinged, paint finish was qualityFirst burn was great it consumed everything I put in twigs, leaves, split logs to ashes and was swept into the collection pan at the bottom. The build is heavy, it’s not for backpacking, more for legit camping or off grid cabin.First burn was hot! It didn’t chip the stainless steel exhaust pipe turned bronze and blue, but smoke exhausted only out the top, and generated a lot heat. Everything was already assembled other than attachment of the stove pipes for exhaust. Super solid build, I will be buying 1 more.

    Awesome!!!

Wow I love this thing. Almost no assembly, works right out of the box, absolutely beautiful and well made. Well worth the price, this thing is sturdy as hell and you can pass this down to your grandkids. 100% recommend.

    little heavy

its heavy but good stoves actually need to be. shelves on the side are really useful for keeping things next to stove. keep coffee warm an such. i turned the pipe colors the first burn, but its pretty now. it really puts out the heat, so be careful what’s next to pipe an such. lil bit of building required, but once you get it your ready to go. it had a few problems i fixed before using. the glass in the door was loose and the pipe connector to the stove leaked both of which i fixed getting some sealant, just make sure its high temp. overall i love this stove. after watching some camping vids on youtube and seeing how flimsy they are im glad i got this one, its really tougher and lots cheaper than those. some of which were 500.00 dollars or more . i believe this will last a long time.

Put up the money for a more reputable unit! DONT BUY!

I’ve had this product for a little over a week. I have burned approximately 4 fires in it. It seemed to be pretty good quality when I pulled it out of the box and the first burn of course as expected had a lot of off gassing. Now in use a few times, the interior is buckling, which didn’t seem like much of a problem but the exterior is now not only buckling but it is also peeling paint. I thought I was being smart buying a cheaper unit, but turns out I was wrong.

    Doesn’t throw off enough heat

This stove is so cute, almost looks like a toy! I bought it for my Teepee (a real teepee, not a tent teepee), it is way too small to heat that big a space as it’s sold. I burned it first out in my driveway to burn off chemical fumes as suggested. After a few hours, I took it into the teepee and started a fire. The stove pipe did not reach the top of the teepee pole opening but the smoke did go out the top of the teepee without opening the smoke flaps (I ordered 4 more section of pipe). BUT yes smoke leaks from the top removable disk and stove door but not as much as an open fire pit in the middle of the teepee (which I removed because it took up too much floor space and smoked too badly). My teepee has a lining that acts as an insulator and air flow, but this tiny stove does not put out enough heat to even take the chill off inside )I’ve done many modifications. It may be good for a small tent or off grid lean to, but it will not work in a real teepee (you’d need a bigger stove for a real teepee but a bigger stove would take up too much floor space), my many modifications made it work for me), oh and because of the small space inside, it’s a bear to get started. I found it much easier to load from the top to get it going at first with the front door open. Also the air vent in front is hard to slide back & forth. I’m disappointed but I’ll keep it and keep trying to get it to be more efficient. Perhaps some high heat sealant will work and maybe a seal around the door to eliminate smoke inside the teepee. But it’s definitely does not heat a real teepee in our North Country of NY winters very easily.Revision: The way this stoves pipe is set up to install is also incorrect. The pipe installs allowing creosol to leak down the outside of the pipe. I purchased a section of pipe with female ends on both sides. This allows the pipe to be installed so the creosol flows down the inside of the pipe (as opposed to outside the pipe). Also the pipe needs to be removed and cleaned more often as the stove doesn’t make enough heat in the pipe to burn it out. Only burn hard wood to avoid creosol build up. I also bought a third set of pipe to go completely through the top of my teepee and beyond (pipe is about 18’ high from top of stove). I bought a section of screen heat resistant pipe to go through the top poles to prevent burning the canvas or support rope around the top of the teepee poles, this works great so the smoke flaps don’t need to be opened during rain or snow storms).Again, this stove is not really built for a real teepee, although it was suggested for a teepee (obviously a teepee TENT), but I have been able to make it work beautifully 👍

    great little camping stove!

This camping stove is great. be prepared to make a few upgrades too it like some fire gasket around the door and a little around the cooking port. burn a hot fire the first couple times to cook off all the fumes and nastyness. the paint does come off a bit when the fire is too hot but its not a big deal. its a great value for the money! its lightweight. easy to use and keeps the fire in and your stuff safe while camping. design is good and very user friendly!

    First time stove owner

Solid stove, feet are more stable than I expected, haven’t done a burn in yet but all the parts seem present and assembly is simple .. the shelves folding inward to form a handle is a great feature as this guy is hefty .. don’t understand why the main damper is located on the spark arrestor chimney sleeve instead of the base, one has to get out of the tent and reach up high to the top of the chimney to use that damper leaving you with just the slots in the door to adjust air flow if you don’t wanna freeze your bum off outside .. doing a first burn as we speak .. Allen screws were very difficult to insert without dropping into the stove at setup, longer screws suggested .. would be better if door latch was made of a heat resistant material .. it’s a good seal once the door is closed but the pressure required to latch door down is somewhat significant
